As an Executive Image Consultant, Lola advises leaders on how to dress with mindfulness—to exude power while expressing their authentic selves. Lola is an AICI Certified Image Professional, a Fashion Feng Shui® Facilitator, an Essential Color Professional, a licensed esthetician, and the founder and owner of a full-service salon in New York. She conducts corporate image workshops as well as private consultations, and has partnered with MCA since 1999.
MCA empowers C-level executives to lead more authentically. If a leader feels that image consulting is relevant to their journey, Lola helps the leader to visually affirm their intentions through wardrobe, accessory, and hairstyle choices. Color, in particular, can be a catalyst for success, and Lola guides clients to select the palette that honors exactly who they are while simultaneously enhancing their professional purpose.
Lola was born in Athens, Greece and immigrated with her family to the United States when she was four years old. The family’s Queens home also served as her mother’s salon, where neighbors came to have their hair cut, colored, and styled. Lola loved watching her mother transform a client’s look and boost their confidence. She happily busied herself in all aspects of the business, from sweeping the floor to accompanying her mother to hair shows and serving as her translator. By the time she was a teenager, Lola was attending high school during the day and Christine Valmy classes at night. Valmy was a skin-care pioneer and an often-quoted health and beauty authority, having founded the American Association of Estheticians and the first licensed skin-care school in the country. Valmy was so impressed by Lola’s skills and work ethic that she offered Lola a franchise opportunity. Instead, intent on blazing her own trail, Lola used her wedding money to open her own salon, Clear Skin, with her sister. It was 1982 and Lola was just 21 years old. Soon after, their mother joined them. Today, Clear Skin still stands at the same West Hempstead, N.Y. location, a testament to Lola’s vision and her commitment to providing exceptional hair, spa, and makeover services to generations of customers.

Regarded as a premier esthetician, hair colorist, makeup artist, and stylist, Lola advises Fortune 500 leaders through her corporate image work. She also helps those less fortunate, in part because she can relate; as a teenager Lola didn’t attend her prom because she couldn’t afford it. Annually, Clear Skin serves as a drop-off location for donated prom dresses, shoes, and accessories. These items are distributed free of charge through Prom Boutique to girls who are struggling financially. Lola and her employees are known as the community’s “prom fairy godmothers.”
The word “team” is profoundly meaningful to Lola. It was a dream fulfilled to work alongside her mother and sister for years at Clear Skin, and many employees have worked at the salon for 15 years. Lola has also been the girls' varsity soccer coach at H. Frank Carey High School since 2000, a role she cherishes. She holds a national United States Soccer Federation coaching license and has served on the Nassau County Girls Soccer executive board since 2009. But the team that she counts on the most is her husband of 35 years, Frank, and their three children and two grandchildren. With the support of her family, and their proximity to the salon and local soccer fields, Lola has achieved a joyous work-life balance.
